Chimney Breast Removal in Alderley Edge :
MAP Builders carried out this chimney breast removal in alderley edge to the approval of cheshire east building control and with all works supported by structural engineers calculations.
Firstly a great deal of care was taken to minimise the effect on dust on the existing rooms by creating a working area fully enclosed by plastic sheeting suspended from the ceiling and covering the floor with plyboard.
The exit route was protected throughout to be sure that the building work caused minimal disturbance.

A steel beam was installed on concrete padstones then firelined. Extreme care was taken to not penetrate the platerwork on the other side of the wall when creating pockets for the steel beam and padstone to sit.
We managed to remove plaster and brickwork wiothout disturbing the decor in the adjacaent rooms. Only the best !!

The chimney brast was then removed followed by repair of the floors, walls and ceilings.
We then followed by plastering the entire wall and boxing in and locally platering the ceiling.

These works where all complemented by the creation of a feature wall with painting and installation of a full length storage unit.
