Extension and kitchen fit in Glossop, High Peak
This stone extension in Glossop, High Peak was a design and build project which took into account the clients specific details of creating high levels of natural light without
comprimising the thermal efficiency of the room.
The external walls where built of a natrual stone that complimented the existing stone building whilst utilising high levels of insulation and bespoke Damp Proofing details to ensure the best achievable U values.
Design development lead from the initial glass roof to the final installation of two large remote opening velux windows allowing 90% of the new roof space to be glazed whilst again acheiving required U values and also allowing the roof to be opened during summer months.
An existing kitchen was knocked through supported with steel beams to create a large kitchen area, which was further complemented by the installation of a wet underfloor heating system throughout covered by a natural stone floor.
The entire room was rewired and plumbed to suit the new kitchen layout and walls boarded with high density sound board for acoustic performance and then skimmed to the usual high level of quaility to accept a painted finish.
A solid kitchen was fitted incorporating the latest storage systems
and a granite worktop, which after decoration and a tiled splashback finished of this Extension in glossop to a excellent standard which totally fufilled our clients requirements.
